The Ride

Do you know where you are going?

I always asked myself that question but I cannot find an answer. I see myself going in  a different directions for so many years. One road directs me to become ambitious, so focus and self centered while the other, me as a free-spirited human being, one who is happy-go-lucky, never care about what tomorrow brings.

Funny as it may sound but choosing the right road to travel is a tough one. We do not know if the road we will choose will lead us into someone that we want to be or will give us what we are looking for. We do not know what lies ahead. All we know is that feeling of assurance that what we choose is the right one for us. And so, we travel that road. And we start to hope that our journey to that road will reach our destination.

But you know what, who cares about the destination. What matters is the journey and the joy and fun while traveling. That will make us a better person. The stumbling blocks, road blocks, and the dirty path will make us a better person. That will make the ride more enjoyable.

After all... its not the destination that matters, its the ride.

So, which road do you think I chose?

  1. "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don’t much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat.
"--so long as I get SOMEWHERE," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you’re sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."

  4. maraming curves at minsan, isang turn lang pwede magbago ang buhay natin forever. pero noone knows kung right turn ba or wrong 'to. only we can decide if we are brave enough to try to see what it really is. :-)

  5. The road of happiness!

Sabi nga ni Miley: It's not what waiting on the other side... it's the climb! - partida naglakad pa sya. Hindi ride.

Tama si kulapitot, go lang ng go. Sabi nga sa theme song ng Wizard of Oz" "When you let your heart be the compass(It will always lead you home) You won't get lost if you trust it."

  11. Agree. Madalas ko din natatanong sa sarili ko toh, kung saan nga ba ako pupunta sa buhay kong ito. At totoo mga sinabi mo.. hindi naman ung sa kung saan.. yung daan pa rin ang importante.

Importante din na you accept that whatever you stumble upon, it may be difficult or challenging, it is still something that will help you grow.

  12. reminds me of a part of a poem by robert frost:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

We make our choices and we live by it. Im glad to have met you all on my journey.

  13. that's the beauty life has, uncertainty is what makes it fun,
and yeah i agree it was never about where are you now and where will you be tomorrow coz the journey you took on reaching that is what matters the most

  14. Grabe... Ganyan din thoughts ko the past few weeks. Lalo na pag super nasestress na ako sa work. Basta ako, kahit stressful pa ang work, I just think of the fact na I'm touching people's lives, and then think na I am free to do naman whatever, as long as I give time and balance. Just enjoy the journey, and I'm sure may purpose lahat ng dinadaanan ko... I've seen so much answers to my questions before like "bakit ba nangyari toh?" and laging maganda yung reasons. Kaya I'm just excited to see nalang anong surprise sa'kin throughout these different experiences I am facing... =) Love your post!
