Seeking My Purpose

hiram kay manong google.com
The past few weeks was one hell of a ride. It was a moment of ups and downs. Been into emotional depression that causes my health to go down and I've been sick for weeks. My faith in God and in myself have been tested. For a time, I forgot who I was. I dont remember anymore the same person I used to be when I was a kid. My purpose disappears and in just one blink of an eye I forgot everything I have been dreaming of.

This morning while I was reading the Bible, yes you read it right I read the Bible (did I just mentioned the word read three times in a phrase?..gosh). I was meditating the book of 1 John 1:7 - If we walk in the light, as he is the light... The Blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from sin, when a drop of faith reminded me so many things.

Suppose a student doing a science project and experiment on the effect of light and darkness on the growth of the seed. The student gets a mung bean from a store and plant it in four Styrofoam cups and water them. He places the two cups in the sunny window while the other two he places in a dark cabinet. In a couple of days the seedling appears. Few more days, the plant in the dark and the one in the light looks similar. Then little leaves starts to break out from each seeds. Few weeks after, the plant in the cabinet turns yellow and starts to die while the one from a sunny window start to grow big and more leaves will sprout. We therefor conclude that in the experiment a plant needs light in order to survive, to grow, bloom and make seeds.

Same true with our spiritual lives, we need to live in the light for us to grow and bear fruit. Without spiritual guidance and awareness we wont be able to fulfill out purpose, we wont be able to get the fruit of the spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 describes spiritual fruit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control. Continue living in the light will gain us the these fruits.

For a moment, I forgot to claim this spiritual fruit. I became impatient and never kind. I forgot to thank God for every blessing and forgot to understand and trust His plan and purpose for my life.

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord, I thank you for every blessings that you have showered. I thank you for every opportunity you have laid. Starting today, I will trust and obey and believe in your plans. I thank you for your mercy and love. Thank you that everytime I stumble, your loving arms is always ready to carry me. Amen.

  1. Sometimes, we do not immediately see and appreciate God's plan for us. And then we forget to appreciate Him. We lose sight of Him and we begin to question our faith..

But that's perfectly normal.. we are only human. The important thing is that we get back on track..

Such revelations for you, Xander. We all have our own reasons why were here on earth.. He has a plan. We just have to have faith.

    Amen.

  3. I can relate very well on this entry Xander. Actually, I've been noticing your recent entries to be stories of faith, struggles, keeping the faith, and gratitude.

I am also currently in a cross road and in distress due to lack of a clear road to my dreams. I'm not sure where to start, and every time I begin to take each steps to realize my goals, situations seem not to cooperate.

I have so many plans, but each of those are not working.

Until my faith got tested, and was really confused.

I think the best way to understand God is to really meditate, and ask for the Holy Spirit to help us discern and contemplate on things to do. I remember a saying, "God can't do much to a talkative soul." Prayers are good, but we need to learn how to listen to Him too.

On things that we don't understand, let God show His light. Let Him surprise you.

I pray that whatever you go through right now, you become successful. I also pray that for myself and only God knows when to provide his answer - in His own Divine time.

    God bless Xander!

Just constantly pray and things will be fine in the end. For sure. God says so, right?
