Upcoming Prequels and Sequels
I love watching movie either in a big screen or I could just download it in my laptop. It doesn't really matter if it's an old movie or a new release film. I also dont have a specific like in terms of what type of movie to watch. As long as it's an interesting movie then, I'm in.
I am so excited to know that some of the movies I love to watch had sequels and prequels. Some of the movies were confirmed for their sequel and some are still on the planning stage.
Avatar 2 and 3
An official release from Fox has confirmed that Cameron's next projects will be Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, shot back to back with planned release dates of December 2014 and 2015.
And we quote Fox Chairmen Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman: "AVATAR is not only the highest grossing movie of all time, it is created universe based on the singular imagination and daring of James Cameron, who also raised the consciousness of people worldwide to some of the greatest issues facing our planet... We had no higher prioirty, and can feel no greater joy, than enabling Jim to continue and expand his vision of the world of AVATAR. This is a great day in the history of our company, adn we thank all of those who have made this possible."
Cameron indicated that Avatar 2 will focus on the oceans of Pandora while Avatar 3 will see Jake and Neytiri journey to the moons of Pandora.
Fourth Underworld Movie
No director is yet attached and at the moment nothing is know about the stars Kate Beckinsale (Underworld 1 and 2) or Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans), if they will reprise their role or not, but series producers Len Wiseman and Gary Lucchesi are on board, along with Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright.
I just hope the creators/writers can introduce some new and elements on the fourth film. And I hope this is not a prequel and wont redo the old three movies. I hope they will give out something new to the audience old and new. Something that will get us away from Twilight Saga about vampires and werevolves.
Wolverine 2
I am not sure If I will watch this one since the first movie is not that good. In this movie, Wolverine gets trained in Japan by a Samurai, he learns to Kung Fu with any ways he can learn to force himself as a villain. The movie will be directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight & Day, etc) and Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wonlverine.
Sherlock Homes 2: A Game of Shadows
With a release date of December 16, 2011 (USA). Directed by Guy Ritchie and will still stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Jared Harris
Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their fiercest adversary, Professor Moriarty.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
To be release on December 14, 2012 and will be directed by Peter Jackson who also serve as the producer and co-writer. The Hobbit, which is the prequel to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy, will star Martin Freeman as Biblo Baggins and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Also Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom will reprise their role. The movie will be split into two films and both are going to be shot simultaneously.
MGM and New Line cinema will co-finance and co-distribute the film, the New Line distributing in the US and MGM internationally.
Thor 2
Marvel are keen to get cracking on with the sequel and have already marked summer of 2013 as their target release date.
New villains are being suggested for the movie and one of this is a powerful Asgardian sorceress named The Enchantress. She appeared in the comic which involved an attempt to take out Thor's love interest, Jane, in order to have him fall for herself.. Another villain has popped up is a character called The Executioner- who love interest is The Enchantress. So basically its like were looking for a love square movie. Exciting!
Happy Feet 2
Elijah Wood and Robin Williams are set to repeat their previous performances as Mumble, Ramon and Lovelace. Pink will replace Brittany Murphy's voice (dubbed the voice of Gloria, Mumble's love interest). The movie will be in 3D and is set to be release on November 18, 2011 in North American theaters and will be released with a Looney Tunes short called Daffy's Rhapsody.
